Once I had the idea, I didn&#8217;t dwell on it. I sprang into action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was nervous that I&#8217;d be judged, so I put on bright red lipstick to distract from my clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/brown-paper-bag-1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-189\" width=\"360\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/brown-paper-bag-1-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/brown-paper-bag-1-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/brown-paper-bag-1-1600x2133.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On my walk to 7-Eleven many people didn&#8217;t notice, some pretended not to, and a few made prolonged eye contact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Discomfort Challenge: Wear Paper Bags clip\" width=\"688\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vknpKnJItF8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>One car stopped to shout words of (I think) approval while recording video of me. I shouted back &#8220;Bag Life! Bag Lady!&#8221; and &#8220;Bags on bags&#8221; and danced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 7-Eleven a lady complimented my outfit. The folks from the car who recorded me were in 7-Eleven. They recorded me again, while saying, &#8220;She&#8217;s rocking those bags.&#8221; I hammed it up and posed for the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I bought my seltzer, during which the cashier seemed pretty unfazed. But soon after starting, I realized, once again, it was no big deal. The people who were into my outfit were loud about their opinions.
