{"id":508,"date":"2019-10-17T18:59:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-17T23:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/?p=508"},"modified":"2019-10-17T18:59:14","modified_gmt":"2019-10-17T23:59:14","slug":"day-53-ask-a-stranger-for-100-dollars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-53-ask-a-stranger-for-100-dollars\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 53: Ask a Stranger for 100 Dollars"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For day 53, I asked a stranger for $100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;d been avoiding this rejection challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If asking a <a href=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-21-ask-strangers-to-play-paper-scissors-rock\/\">stranger to play paper scissors rock<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-25-a-stranger-called-me-bitch-then-we-reconciled\/\">how their pizza tastes <\/a>caused pandemonium, I couldn&#8217;t imagine what asking for a $100 dollars would be like!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turns out, it was easy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Rejection Therapy: Ask For $100\" width=\"688\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-vM1FT1RAa4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What I learned&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t let a past experience scare you. Each experience will be different. It depends on the person you encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrary to previous rejection challenges, this experience was warm and pleasant. Not only that, but I would be friends with this guy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re resisting some action, do the steps leading up to the most difficult part. I putting off this challenge, making excuses that I couldn\u2019t do it because I wasn\u2019t around a stranger and I didn\u2019t have my video set-up together. So, today I only committed to putting the video set-up together and going on a walk. But that was all it took to push me to do the actual challenge. The barriers were gone.
