I told my accountability buddy, <a href=\"https:\/\/playfulzenwellness.com\/\">Nicole Villeneuve<\/a>,  that my goal was to ask one person if they knew of a space to host my meetup. She challenged me to 5. I asked 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After asking strangers for <a href=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-53-ask-a-stranger-for-100-dollars\/\">$100 dollars<\/a>, to <a href=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-21-ask-strangers-to-play-paper-scissors-rock\/\">play paper scissors rock<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/dashiellbarkhuss.com\/discomfortblog\/day-43-talk-to-my-hand\/\">talking to my hand<\/a> in public, this was easy. However, pre-discomfort-challenge-Dashie would have struggled to ask strangers for Meetup space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last few months I&#8217;ve learned many lessons on asking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be calm and the other person will be calm<\/li><li>Getting a no is fine<\/li><li>Put the other person&#8217;s needs before yours<\/li><li>Nobody cares or remembers if you screw up<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn&#8217;t merely learn these, I <em>know<\/em> them. My body knows this. It&#8217;s visceral. Not just intellectual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was on fire yesterday asking, asking, asking. I got some great suggestions.
