Jia Jiang successfully did this one. I wasn’t as lucky! But I got close.
Listening back I think I did a good job of asking the flight attendant after I asked the lady at the desk. With the flight attendant, I didn’t say “um” and “like” or talk in an overly high voice.
In these challenges, I sometimes raise the pitch of my voice to indicate that I’m not a threat. But I feel like it also makes me come off as unstable. I don’t know why, but I associate high voices with unstable people. Like adults who put on baby voices.
So I think lowering my voice and acknowledging that my request was weird helped get the lady to trust me. The pilot didn’t talk to me directly, so I had no control over that.
